Guatemalan Consular Service Appointment System

You can request the issuance of a Personal Identification Document (DPI), Consular Identification Card and Guatemalan Passport

Guatemalans who wish to request the DPI, PASSPORT or CONSULAR ID at the Guatemalan Consulates must proceed as follows:

  1. Schedule your appointment through the GUATEMALA CONSULAR SERVICE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM. We inform you that the appointment is personal, FREE and cannot be transferred. As of March 2022, appointments will be made on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 am through the link www.citaconsularguatemala.com .IMPORTANT: IT IS AN INDISPENSABLE REQUIREMENT TO PRESENT AN ELECTRICITY, WATER, TELEPHONE, GAS RECEIPT OR OTHER PROOF OF RESIDENCE TO REQUEST A PASSPORT, CONSULAR ID AND DPI. THE PROOF DOES NOT NECESSARILY BE IN YOUR NAME.
  2. If you want a PASSPORT you must present the original and a photocopy of ONE of the following documents: Birth Certificate issued by RENAP with a minimum validity of six (6) months containing a CUI or DPI number and the payment in MONEY ORDER of $65.00 dollars.2.1 If you want a PASSPORT for a MINOR, you must present the following documents in original and a photocopy: Birth Certificate issued by RENAP with a minimum validity of six (6) months that contains the CUI number of the minor and the presence of both parents with Your Birth Certificate issued by RENAP with a minimum validity of six (6) months that contains a CUI or DPI number. If one of the parents is in Guatemala, the Minor’s Passport Authorization must be signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or MINEX Departmental Delegations.
  3. If you want DPI you must present the following document in original and a photocopy: Birth Certificate issued by RENAP and payment in MONEY ORDER of $15.00 dollars. (Does not include shipping and handling. You must bring $8.95 worth of postage stamps with you for DPI to be mailed to your address)
  4. If you want a CONSULAR CARD you must present the original and a photocopy of ONE of the following documents: DPI or Birth Certificate issued by RENAP or valid passport and payment in MONEY ORDER of $25.00 dollars. (Includes shipping and handling.)

NOTE: GIVEN THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE HEALTH AUTHORITIES AND TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF EVERYONE, WE ASK YOU TO WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES, BRING YOUR OWN PEN OR PENCIL AND A PHOTOCOPY OF BOTH SIDES OF YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE . IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING, THE ENTRY OF COMPANIONS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

It is important to inform the Guatemalan community abroad that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassies and Consulates, is the only one in charge of providing the data capture service for the issuance of personal identification documents – DPI, PASSPORTS, CARD CONSULAR-. Therefore, IT IS RECOMMENDED NOT TO BE FOOLED by unscrupulous people or institutions that want to surprise them in their good faith. The request for identification documents is a personal process, so it DOES NOT NEED PROCESSORS OR MANAGERS.
